Dixon Government News Water Use Survey Being Sent to Residents

Water Use Survey Being Sent to Residents

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requires every water supplier to develop and implement a comprehensive Cross Connection Control Program for the elimination of existing and prevention of future cross connections.  These regulations have been established to protect our drinking water systems.

A requirement of the program is to conduct a biennial survey of all water customers. The City of Dixon has contracted with Aqua Backflow from Elgin, IL to implement and oversee this survey. All Dixon water customers will soon receive a cross connection survey form in the mail. Please complete and return the short survey form immediately after you receive it.

The survey may be returned free of charge via an online form or email; the survey may also be returned via fax or through the U.S. Postal Service. Directions for returning the survey to Aqua Backflow will be included on the survey form. Customers may also return their completed survey forms to the Dixon Water Department Office, located at 121 West Second Street.

If you have or require backflow protection, you may also receive a notice for compliance (testing, repairs, or installations). Aqua Backflow may be reached at 847-742-2296 or  with any questions.

The City of Dixon’s Cross Connection Control Program is designed to safeguard public health. We ask for your cooperation with our program, its enforcement, and any requests for information that may come from Aqua Backflow or City staff.
