The youth library offers a large collection of materials - from board books to chapter books, in addition to audio books and magazines.

NEW - Use ABCMouse Early Learning Academy for free at the Dixon Public Library.

Winter/Spring programs in the Youth Library start the week of January 8th!

Raising Readers Preschool Storytime - this program is for children who are ready for longer stories and activities.  We'll be sure to include practice with letters, numbers, colors, and shapes along with fun stories, games, and crafts.  We welcome children ages 3-5 and their caregivers at 10;00 a.m. Tuesday mornings beginning January 7th, 2020.

Tales for Tots - Baby/Toddler Storytime - this program is for our youngest library patrons and takes place on Wednesday mornings at either 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. beginning January 8th, 2020.

Thursday Afterschool Family Events - we invite the whole family to join us one Thursday a month for our afterschool family programs.  Most programs are scheduled from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. but watch our Facebook page for specific details. Dates for this session include:

December 12th, 2019 - Cookies and Stories with Mrs. Claus. Mrs. Claus will be here with the naughty and nice lists!  Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy cookies and hear Mrs. Claus read a Christmas story.
January 16th, 2020 - Winter Fun!
February 13th, 2020 - Be My Valentine!
March 12th, 2020 - Dave Herzog's Marionettes.
April 9th, 2020 - Welcome, Spring!

Movie Nights - we are planning movie nights on some of the evenings when the kids will be off from school the following day. We currently have two dates scheduled, January 2nd, 2020 and March 26th, 2020. Watch the library's Facebook page for more information.

Kids Coding Club - Our kids coding club meets on Tuesdays after school.  There are different sessions organized by age groups so be sure to stop in at the youth circulation desk and pick up more information!
