Pick Up your Petition for the 2023 Consolidated Elections

PRESS RELEASE

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK

August 30, 2022

It is time for the circulation of petitions for the 2023 Consolidated Elections.  Since the City of Dixon is a non-partisan municipality, the City residents running for office must file as if there would be a Primary Election, which would depend on how many people turn in petitions.  That Consolidated Primary will be held on February 28, 2023.  If there is no Consolidated Primary Election needed, the names of the candidates will be placed on the ballot for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 4, 2023 for the following offices:

Mayor for the City of Dixon (4 year term) – One (1)

Councilman for the City of Dixon (4 year term) –  Two (2)

Candidates in Dixon will be required to file their nomination petitions in the City of Dixon Clerk’s office, 121 West Second Street, during business hours from Monday, November 21, 2022 through Monday, November 28, 2022.  On Monday, November 28, 2022, the clerk’s office will remain open until 5:00pm.

*Note: Dixon City Hall is closed on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The signatures for the Primary Petition for Non-Partisan-Municipality can begin immediately up until the deadline for filing, November 28, 2022, 5:00pm.

Candidate packets are available and can be picked up at the office of the City Clerk, 121 W. Second Street or found on our website dixongov.org
